About our Organization
Pathway to Freedom was founded in 2020 to aid women and children trapped in abusive situations. Domestic abuse affects more than 10 million people per year, or as many as one in four women, and can insidiously take shape as emotional or psychological abuse. Even when the harm a woman faces is not explicitly physical, the experience of being manipulated, controlled, gaslit and verbally abused can have devastating effects on her heart, spirit, mind and body. We’re here to help women and their children escape dangerous relationships and reclaim a future of freedom, joy, hope and love.
What We Do
For too many women, escape is only an idea they can dream about. Oftentimes this is because they lack access to their family’s financial resources. Abusive spouses who control or monitor the family’s finances can easily prevent their victims from accessing the funds required to leave. This can include costs as small as groceries or gas money to get somewhere safe; or as large as a security deposit for an apartment or payment to a lawyer. Ultimately, it is a fear of financial ruin, or simple lack of access to resources, that prevents so many women from escape. We work directly with these women to provide them with the funds they need to find safety and freedom for themselves and their children.
About Our Founder
Patrick Doyle has over thirty years of working with people from all over in treatment centers, churches, and through his professional office. Patrick’s own story of emotional and physical abuse has resonated with many. His personal story of pain and survival has filled others with hope. It’s Patrick’s passion to help women walk through that very difficult mine field filled with nuances and subtleties. Over the years, Patrick has counseled thousands of women who have been in a place of harm due to emotional abuse. It’s his privilege to walk many of these courageous women from a place of hopelessness to a place of freedom, so they can live a life filled with health, vibrancy, peace and joy.
